Jean Spence brings her expertise in corporate governance, strategy, innovation management, organizational design and leadership coaching to Third Angle. 

Jean’s vast experience in the consumer goods industry includes EVP of Research, Development & Quality for Mondelez International, Inc. and prior to that, for Kraft Foods. Under her leadership, Kraft’s innovation performance went from bottom to Top Tier – resulting in Kraft being named “Innovator of the Year.”  Other roles blended Jean’s talent in engineering, human resources, and quality, forging a reputation as a first-class technical, business and people leader at Third Angle.  

Jean earned her Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Clarkson University and her Master of Engineering from Manhattan College. She is a Certified Food Technologist and was recognized as one of the Top 100 Women in STEM.  She served as the first female Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Clarkson University and is currently a trustee. Additionally, she chairs the compensation committee of TreeHouse Foods (THS) and is a member of the nominating & governance committee.  She currently serves as an advisor to Praesidium Private Investments and Bain & Company.

Jean spends most of the year in Marco Island, FL but returns to Wilmette, IL and lives an endless summer!  Jean and her husband enjoy spending time with their two adult children.  Other passions include two book clubs, gardening, cooking, pickleball, yoga, Zumba and international travel where she gets to use her Irish passport.
